ARE WE THERE YET?

So we set out for AZ. and to what should our wondering eyes did appear...FOG, and lots of it! We were in fog through all of Iowa and northern Missouri. We stayed outside of Kansas City the first night. The next morning we enjoyed our continental breakfast and on back on the road again. We traveled all day today and only stopped for gas and food. We finally decided to stretch our legs in Amarillo Texas. We stopped at the American Quarter Horse Museum, which I am well aware sounds corny to some, but if you know our N, she was in HEAVEN! We took pictures, but since I am in a hotel with DIAL UP!!! can you even believe that still exists? I will have to post pics later.

N and L had a good time though. Tonight we are staying in New Mexico. We have seen lots of country we have never seen before. We are really excited to see family tomorrow. Infact, until now we have never experienced the barrage of "are we there yet?" But that seems to have turned into N's favorite phrase in the last 2 days. We finally got our point across that we won't get to Jaiden's house until we have slept in two hotels and its Saturday! So now she just asks if we are to the hotel yet!

Hopefully we sleep well tonight and have a safe day tomorrow. My butt is draggin' so good night to all!

Merry Christmas if I don't get to it until after.

Uggggggghhhhhhhhh!

Why do cars cost SO much and then you still have to pay to maintain them? I am feeling a little crazy right now so read on at your own risk. We are suppose to leave in a few days for AZ. and we knew we would need to put on some tires before we go,(which we already own and so we anticipated only having to have them switched over)we also wanted to have the brakes checked out to make sure everything was good, maybe we would get some new brake pads, you know, just some little checks before we head out.
So, K takes the car down to the shop and just called to tell me that we are already pushing $1000.00! WWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT! Wait a second...are ya kidding me? We already own the tires, so whats wrong with the breaks? Long story short, the entire underside of our car pretty much needs to be replaced. (I hate Iowa) ...............K is calling me back...................... ......negotiating...............OK, so now we only have to pay a couple hundred dollars!!!!!!yeah!!! I love that my husband can fix stuff himself! :) I'm not feeling so crazy now, just a little exhausted.
So now we have tires on and a new tie rod. Now K is off to the parts place to get some new routers and pads for the brakes. This is when I miss having access to the big shop and the farm mechanic at home in Washington. I know I won't see him the rest of the day, but at least we are saving ourselves about $800.00!
I guess I just needed to vent that.

20 days till Christmas!

Last night and this morning we got our first REAL snow. Meaning its still on the ground after a whole day. We are to get more tomorrow as well. I realized today was the 5th and I think its someone in my family's birthday. Maybe Cole? I'm not sure. So any who, I am almost done with my Christmas cards. I got the pictures made today, now I just have to put them together. I make my own cards about every 3 or so years. Otherwise I get the photo ones at Sams or Costco. Which is MUCH easier I might add. But I love making my own once in a while and so, soon enough you will be seeing it in the mail. If I don't have your address, please email it to me! It will make it a lot easier to get to you with a address on it!

K is SUPER busy with school right now so he is kinda Grinchy. He has 6 tests next week. YUCK! These are the weeks when it would be so much easier for me to leave with the kids, but we have no where to go. Everyone lives to far away.

We are in the Christmas mood though. Presents are wrapped, music is playing, the occasional Christmas movie, and of course, good food. What a Merry Christmas!

A Christmas Story

We started December out right with a viewing of "A Christmas Story". This is K's favorite Christmas movie.
