Safety check

So I went over to Nobody's and saw this link here. It reminded me how naive I am. That I needed to clean up my act around here. I know, you might have told me so before, but I can be a little slow at times. :)

Therefore, I will strive to keep our identity in check. I have removed us from searches. I have given us a new name. I am considering giving us each a nickname to go by on the blog. I don't however have any creativity when it comes to doing such names as you can see by the new blog title. (gosh!) It might be temporary?

So, those of you who know us, or THINK you know us :) here is your chance to do some name calling! I mean suggesting! I will hopefully be able to choose something soon.

In return for your good names, if I pick your suggestion, I will gladly bake you some delicious Cinnamon Rolls!

Let me have it. Please be nice :)

Its Snowing!

Leaves that is! The wind is blowing and scattering all the leaves. The temperature is around 55 and with the wind, a bit chilly.

I am looking forward to our trip. I got out the suitcases, packed the essentials we are not using (swimsuits) and decided I should ask people what they want to wear instead of making all the decisions. This is hard when everyone is gone all day. But I don't mind.

I've been gathering other essentials for the trip. Sunscreen, band aids, neosporin (cause if I don't take it then we WILL need it) and of course Ibuprofen. Cause every vacation always has at least one headache.

I feel like I am doing a good job of pacing myself in this packing process. Things are getting done. The laundry is almost in check. As in, not controlling my basement. Suitcases are starting to get packed. I've gathered things we will be needing for the flight and such.

I'm not sure if Walt is up for this crowd, but we are excited to get there. Its suppose to be in the 80's most of the week! A little more sun before our dreary winter weather sets in and wears out its tiny welcome.

So, goodbye warm weather, I will see you in about May. If you could at least send the sun a couple times a month, that would be fab. :) Please tell gray and dreary that its not polite to hang out for weeks on end especially when they bring wind with them. People get annoyed.

Glorious Monday

YAY!
Fall break is OVER.
O-V-E-R.

Yes, I did miss sleeping in this morning. But the delightful sound of SILENCE is wonderful today.

Today I will reclaim my castle by:
  • Getting a shower without interruption
  • Leave the house...by myself :)
  • Go to the post office (haven't been there with kids in over 6 years due to an incident with L ripping anthrax posters off the wall once)
  • Get some laundry done, folded, AND put away before it gets destroyed and refolded.
  • Watch what I want to while I fold the laundry.
  • Find the bottom of my kitchen sink. Clean it. Keep it empty for at least a couple hours till everyone gets back home.
  • Vacuum. Its been hit and miss for the last 2 weeks.
  • Start making lists for the trip.
  • Find my vacuum packing bags for the trip.
All in all we had a good break. We are so happy to have a routine back though. :)

Break for K will start at the end of this week and I have a whole other list for him. Including those leaves that we keep avoiding. ;)

Cause I got nothin' else

Today was super Saturday! It was a good one. I will post pictures of what I made as soon as I find my camera to take a picture.

Today L ate a bag of hamburger buns, the rest of the loaf of bread, and of course his usual quota of chicken and fries. shocker.

K woke up with a headache, COULD NOT FUNCTION, but miraculously could play xbox, but can't get to exerted by doing anything else. poor. baby.

N broke Keven's headset for his xbox and the world did not end. (that's what happens when you don't clean up yo' junk.)

Happy Saturday! :)

Does this sound like me?

Your Superhero Profile

Your Superhero Name is The Metal Protector

Your Superpower is Chemical

Your Weakness is Flirting

Your Weapon is Your Stellar Battle Axe

Your Mode of Transportation is Seahorse

Your Issue Profile: 48% Obama, 52% McCain

Truth be told, you're not really satisfied with either of the candidates.

You could vote for either of them. You are the typical coveted swing voter.

You may want to narrow yourself down to a particular set of issues in order to pick your president.

Or start looking at third party candidates. One of them might suit you better.

Fall Break

Caution: long post ahead!

And it begins...Fall break is here. It starts today and goes for another week. I guess there are mixed feelings about these breaks. Yes, I like them because I get to see my kids! Like REALLY see them, not just getting them dressed and sending them out the door. Not that we are really doing anything grand or spectacular while they are home, but just hangin' out!

No, I don't like breaks cause there is NO structure! L only wants to watch movies (which I can't blame him, I want to veg too!) N thinks its Spongebob break, where nothing but Spongebob should be watched, spoken, and we only should eat krabby patties. How many times do you think she can take my order this break? Well its only 10am on the first day of break and I have already had 2 krabby patties. yeah.

Yes, I LOVE the fall break especially for the sleeping in factor!!! It seems now that its a little cooler out, the kids are sleeping great all night, and they actually don't want to get up in the morning. This is only a benefit when we are on break! Right now the only person getting up early is K. Poor guy. But his break will be in about 2 weeks.

No, I don't like the break cause there is way more cooking and dishes to be done. YUCK. I don't know if I have ever publically said how much I HATE dishes, but let it be known. In fact, If I could hire someone to do that one simple task, it would make my life complete! I know I shouldn't waste my time or energy hating it that much, but really, it just makes me cringe to have to do the dishes. I would gladly do vacuuming, laundry, dusting, etc. but HATE dishes.
Just sayin'.

OK~ so I know its been awhile since I have given the lo-down on whats been happening around here, so here it goes:

last Saturday and Sunday we watched conference.
Monday was generally fine. Nothing big happened. Same routines like usual.
Tuesday~ I knew it would be busy, but thought I was prepared. The kids & I (ok, N is already asking for Spongebob. yeah. I can hear her in the other room "sweet, I love it" while she is selecting her channel of preference.) Any who, The kids & I slept in because they had a dentist appt. at 8:30am. So, no point of sending them on the bus. We get up, get ready, and OH, did I mention it is also Picture day at school? yeah. So we are fed, dressed, teeth brushed, N's hair perfectly larger than normal cause she is gonna have to lay on it in the dentist chair, everyone is still in a good mood. K even had a late morning to help us out. Things are pretty darn good at this point. I tell the kids to get their shoes and we will be off. It is about 8:25, we need to be at the dentist in 5 minutes, but he is just a few streets over, so we are good.

I go out to the car to start it cause its raining and I want to be mindful of N's hair I just finished perfecting. I walk around to the drivers side to open and start the car and to my horror, the drivers window is completely smashed. WHY are people SO inconsiderate of my schedule??? Things like this on days like this are NOT OK.

I tell K, he is gonna have to call a friend for a ride to school, I am now confiscating his car and yelling at the kids to go to the other car, we are now late!!! They did an ok job. It seems like when its raining though, my kids are slower than normal.

But we made the dentist. check. Now it was time to get them to school. check. Picture $. check. Now for my Chiropractic appt. Check. I'm feeling good. I need some lunch. Its about noon and I realize I haven't eaten anything for myself yet today. oops. I text K, he is just getting out of class, so we decide to have lunch together in the cafeteria. I know. Romantic!.

I leave after a nice lunch, get home to get the kids off the bus and head over to take L to the Center. Now it's time for Parent Teacher conferences. Yeah. I meet K there, running behind by just a minute or so. First is N. Relatively good report. I found out she is in a talented and gifted class. who knew? not me!

Now for L. As most of my past postings show, L is not meeting the bar. yeah, big surprise. We had a nice chat and tried to come up with some ideas of how to fix this.

Get home. First words out of K's mouth is "whats for dinner?" I try REALLY hard not to bite his head off, state the obvious of " I don't know, I've been busy all day and I just walked through the door with YOU!" And right now as I'm typing, I don't remember what we had for dinner? Tuesday was that special!

Wednesday is our short day. Kids get home early, its go, go, go, and then its dinner and bed time.

And as you know today is the first day of break. So I think I'm gonna take full advantage of it!
Happy Fall! :)
